There will be an Information Table on the Moor, Sat May 7 from 10am-noon at paths’ crossroads, Hob Moor Drive end. Stop by for info, treats and free poo bags.

Large Turnout For Dawn Chorus

Thanks to Barry Bishop, leader of York RSPB, for an excellent walk on the Moor on Saturday morning – sunny but chilly. Fifteen local people joined Barry and enjoyed his knowledge and humour. Reminder: Dawn Chorus Walk – April 30

*Change in meeting place – Yellow railings by the tunnel on Little Hob Moor.* We’re hoping for a great turnout for Barry Bishop, leader of RSPB York, who will share his bird song expertise at a Dawn Chorus Walk on Hob Moor on Saturday, April 30 at 6:00 am. The walk is free and open to the public.

Hob Moor Waste Bins

A question has been raised about the location of waste bins on the Moor. Please refer to the map below. We will attempt to add a waste bin at the Windsor Garth entrance.

Dawn Chorus Walk Scheduled

Barry Bishop, leader of RSPB York, will share his bird song expertise at a Dawn Chorus Walk on Hob Moor on Saturday, April 30 at 6:00 am. The walk is free and open to the public. Meet at the Hob Stone on Little Hob Moor.  

Clean for the Queen

Although the weather was foul and underfoot was saturated and muddy, Hob Moor is 5 bin bags of rubbish cleaner today than it was yesterday! Thanks to Stephanie, Nancy, Sandy and Peter who donned wellies and waterproofs to do the litter pick.

Grant Application Success!

The Friends of Hob Moor recently submitted a ward grant application for the printing of more informational brochures and for a new bench. We would like to thank the ward councillors and the York City Council for approving the application. More brochures coming soon!
